The patches worn on a scouts uniform represent the council, unit and den to which a scout is a part of. The badges earned and also worn represent the achievements of the scout after completing each rank. Additional patches, pins and badges are awarded to scouts through participation in other BSA sponsored events. This page will focus on those standard patches and badges earned within Pack 135 and where they belong on a scout's uniform.
It is highly recommended to NOT glue or iron on patches as the chemicals used will not permit safe removal of patches when needed.

The unit numbers make up our pack number, as registered with the CT Rivers Council. We are Pack 135. There are two versions of the number available, one patch with "135" embroidered as a single patch, or, three separate numbers, "1", "3" and "5" sewn together and then affixed to the uniform. Unit numbers in the one patch variety are available from the pack, while supplies last.
The unit patch numbers are worn just below the Council Patch, on the left arm, centered. They can be sewn touching the Council Shoulder Patch, or just below, but no more than a suggested 1/4" from the Council Shoulder patch.
The patches can be purchased from the Scout Store, here, and cost $1.99+tax, each number (2023).
Adult Leaders who are registered with BSA and have an assigned position within the pack may attached the position patch onto their uniform. The World Crest is worn above the wearer's left breast pocket, centered. The World Crest Ring is attached to the World Crest. If both are used, they are sewn together to create one patch and moved higher to account for the ring.

Rank patches represent the completed ranks the scout has earned. These patches are awarded to the scout by the pack.
The patches are sewn on to the uniform on the wearer's left pocket, just under the flap. The top most patch is that first earned by the scout. Each successive rank badge earned is placed the the wearer's right, then left then beneath. For more information, see Rank Badges Reference.
