Council and Pack Dues

The dues required are made up of several costs that we, as a Pack, have to pay for.  BSA provides their charters with certain services, much like how a franchise is setup.  A portion of the dues being charged by us are forwarded to BSA.  Our local council, CT Rivers, also excises a fee, which we have to pay as well.  And internally, our Pack charges a fee for the day to day costs involved with running the Pack.  These costs include the purchasing of rank badges for each scout, paying for the dues for our adult volunteers, Pinewood Derby kits, Trophies, Den expenses, adventures and misc. administrative costs.

For the 2023-2024 Academic School Year, Dues Are:

New Scouts:  $214.00

Returning Scouts:  $189.00

Reduced Fee/Husky Health/Social Services:  $64.00 (proof required, Contact Us)

Note:  If joining our Pack via the online portal, dues online are made to the National and Local council, totaling between $149 to $174 ($24 for the reduced fee), plus a 3% credit/debit processing fee.  Additional fees to our Pack are still due in the amount of $40.00 afterwards, due at the first Pack meeting.

In an effort to be open with our expenses, below is the breakdown of where your dues go:

Costs Per Scout:

$80.00 - Youth National Membership Fee

$69.00 - Connecticut Rivers Council Fee

$25.00 - For First Time Member Joining Fee (One-Time)

$15.00 - Scout Life Magazine (optional)

$20.00 - Cost per Scout for Awards (rank dependent)

Costs Spread Across All Scouts:

Variable costs spread across all scouts for general den expenses, adventures, and the pinewood derby.

All fundraising activities held during the year go to help reduce these costs as well as help subsidize adventures for our Pack.
