Leader Training

We believe in the Boy Scouts theme that "Every Scout Deserves a Trained Leader", and we encourage our leaders to take advantage of a wealth of available training through the BSA online training and local Atlanta Council training programs.  Many training programs are available free of charge as online courses, and others may have a nominal fee associated for instructor led training.

Welcome new Den Leaders! It's essential that you seek out the required training for you positions. The most important for getting started are these four:

On-Line Classes:

Youth Protection -- Renewal required every two years
This Is Scouting -- Requires creation of a BSA account, see below for more information on E-Learning.

In-Person Classes: (Now available online also)

    New Leaders Essentials
    Cub Scout Leader Specific

Local Event Training Schedules: www.cdbsa.org/training/trainingcal.htm

Just pick a class, print out the registration, and send it in with the nominal registration fee.

On-line E-Learning: scoutnet.scouting.org/elearning
You will need to create a "Personal-ID" to get started. If you have turned in an adult volunteer application form, and have not received a "Personal-ID", contact the Cubmaster to retrieve your ID.

Thank you all for stepping up to be a leader!
